An update from SRS

At the end of each series the volunteers at Sandhills Race Series meet together to discuss the series, the races, what worked for that series and what did not work for the series as a whole.  After much discussion, at the end of the 2014 Spring Series the SRS decided to discontinue the use of points.  In general it seemed participants were running in the series for the enjoyment of the run and were not interested in the points aspect.  Attendance at points ceremonies was very low.  The Sandhills Race Series is a volunteer run organization and we wanted to put forth our best efforts to improve the series.  We decided to place greater emphasis on  race support and race promotion as well as community involvement.

We want to thank everyone for continuing to be part of the Sandhills Race Series and we are excited about the events we have coming up this spring and fall.
